Gerhard and Carina’s Tau Roara Lodge on the farm Verdruk between Lichtenburg and Ottostal in the Nortwest Province opens an exiting new world for visitors. Tau Roara means “place where the lions roar” and this is exactly what one find a few yards from the beautiful luxury chalets or from the sparkling pool in the lush green treed garden. Tau Roara has been developed to give visitors the full experience of lion farming. Another surprise is a game drive along a meandering farm road through the maize and sunflower fields to an adjacent game farm with a large variety of game. The highlight is when “Stevie”, a tame and fully grown giraffe male, approaches the vehicle and allows guests to pat and pamper him – an experience children will never forget. Stevie now has a girlfriend.
