Effingham 56 is a family seaside home and separate flat on the breakers in the Admiralty Reserve in the beautiful hamlet Trafalgar Marine Reserve with Blue Flag beach.

Watch whales and dolphins all day long! The house has three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge (DSTV), dining area and open plan kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with microwave, and fridge/freezer.

The flat has 1 bedroom, bathroom, lounge (DSTV) and dining area with double bunker for kids and an equipped kitchen.

Trafalgar is one of the lower coast’s most idyllic holiday or retirement settings, embraced by the Trafalgar Marine Reserve along the untouched beaches of the warm Indian Ocean to the east, shouldered by the Mpenjati Nature Reserve to the south and with the largest Yengele Dune forest left in KZN in-between. Trafalgar offers the perfect destination for nature lovers who want to enjoy all the attractions and activities that the South Coast offers, but who want to withdraw to a private retreat away from the holidaying crowds

Fishing Rock and surf fishing, deap sea fishing, flyfishing. Excellent Bass fishing in farm dams. Popular fishing spots: Centre Rocks (Southbroom); Kent Bay (Marina Beach); Boulder Rock (Marina Beach); Breaker View Bay (Trafalgar); Shad Rock (Southbroom); Black Rock (Southbroom); and Fascadale Rocks (Southbroom)-- Don't forget your licence from the Post Office

Game Viewing Inquisitive small game such as bushbuck and blue and grey duiker frequently visit streets of Trafalgar

Bird Watching The South Coast is a well-known birding area with over 500 species. The numerous estuaries and rivers flowing into the sea with its lush vegetation offer a perfect habitat for numerous species not least of which are the kingfishers. Guests will often see Knysna and blue-crested louries. A pair of fish eagles breed in the Mpenjati Reserve in Trafalgar and can frequently be heard

Other Activities Visit various nature reserves: MPENJATI a few100 metres from the house . Mpenjati means “the place of the warring buffaloes” and offers a relaxing 3 km trail winding along the north bank of the Mpenjati River through magnificent forest scenery. There are picnic spots alongside the beautiful lagoon.

UMTAMVUNA at Port Edward offers a 25 km walk from the sea along the Umtamvuna River. More trees are found here than anywhere else in Southern Africa. Approximately 1 300 indigenous flowering plants have been listed and the area is also home of the Cape Vulture.

SKYLINE BOTANICAL RESERVE in Uvongo with most trees clearly listed. There are 400 exotic plant species and walking trails. This is a birdwatcher’s paradise.

ORIBI GORGE comprises 1 917 hectares and various walking trails, some more strenuous than others, will lead you through cool natural forests and grassland. Towering sandstone cliffs and rugged mountains provide the adventurer with unforgettable memories. The reserve is home to more than 500 bird species as well as a variety of antelope, mammals and reptiles.

Both the house and flat are fully equipped for self-catering. The house has 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms with double beds and one with 2 singles) and two bathrooms and sleeps 6. Large open plan lounge, dining, lounge and equipped kitchen. DSTV (bring own card). Walk in safe. Large stoep with 180 degree sea and breaker views.

The flat sleeps 4 in one bedroom and dubbel bunker (2 singles)in lounge (DSTV –bring own card). Lounge, equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower etc and sea views from sundeck. Alarm system and armed reaction.

Linen supplied – bring own towels. Two lock-up garages complete the picture. Daily maid available at R80 per day
