This privately owned guest farm prides itself with its attractive and comfortable accommodation(brilliantly transformed milking parlour), well stocked dams for those who enjoy flyfishing and abundant bird life.

One-bedroomed cottage on beautiful dam as well as log cabin with two ensuite bedrooms on another dam now available.

Activities:
Fishing Fly fish for rainbow and brown (and now also Spekboom Reds!) trout in our 3 well stocked dams. For the more adventurous, fly fish the pools in the Spekboom River.

Game Viewing Small game on the farm.

Bird Watching The abundant bird life provides many hours of enjoymenet for the bird lover.

Hiking Trails Climb or leisurely stroll along one of many pathways leading to the banks of the Spekboom River with dense riverine vegetation. The Hoep Hoep Hiking Trail in walking distance from the farm.

Other Activities Visit Mpumalanga Parks Board Lydenburg Production Facility. This division is responsible for the propagation of a wide range of plants and fish species to generate income which will finance protection of indigenous species and natural systems.

The danger of malaria still holds true today, and this makes Lydenburg a safe comfortable base from where all the lowveld atractions can be enjoyed on day excursions without risking malaria or the fatique that can be caused by high temperatures and humidity in the lowveld. The farm ideally situated for visits to the many scenic wonders of the escarpment and the Lowveld. Wagendrift is a comfortable stop-over or even a springboard for visits to the treasures of this beautiful part of South Africa. Visit the Gustav Klingbiel Museum and Nature Reserve, for general information about Lydenburg. Relaxation: When dusk falls, guests can spend hours around a blazing log fire in the boma.

Unique historical sites and national monuments in and around Lydenburg. The Powder Magazine (1890), the oldest school in Mpumalanga (1851), the Voortrekker church (1852), the ZAR post box (still in use), the Steenkamp bridge and pre- historical engravings on stone.

Farming Activities: Production of garlic and manufacturing of Wagendrift Tasty Garlic, Pickled Garlic and Tasty Chilli. An original recipe of Miranda Roets and very tasty with meat, chicken and even as a basting when you braai or as a condiment to food. Buy on the farm or order via Farmstay.
