| Makwasi ("the place of the water") River Camp nestles lazily on the banks of the meandering Wilge River at the foothills of picturesque mountains in the northeastern district of Bronkhorstpruit. Hennie and Elena succeeded in creating an ideal nature breakaway for groups, families and friends on their small farm. However small, guests can wander high up in the mountains along a hiking trail on an adjacent farm with excellent birding, indigenous vegetation and beautiful views. Makwasi offers various facilities including a farmhouse cottage (sleeps 5), two river cottages (sleeps 4 and 2 respectively), an A-frame log chalet on the riverbank (sleeps 4) and an undercover caravan (sleeps 4). The facilities are in close proximity but private. The ideal breakaway close to Gauteng. Makwasi, just more than one hour's drive from Pretoria, is also ideal for church and school groups. |
