Few people are aware of the unspoilt nature and wilderness along the meandering Wilge River only 45 minutes from Pretoria and 70 minutes from the Johannesburg International Airport past Bronkhorstspruit in Eastern Gauteng.
Luiperdskloof (Leopard’s Gorge) Lodge and Game farm of Theo Joubert and his family is such a destination and offers countryside elegance and restful comfort with hospitality and service difficult to parallel elsewhere.
The Joubert’s developed Luiperdskloof into an eco-dream during the past four years and the 500-hectare farm offers a wide variety game species including Kudu, Blesbuck, Blouwildebeest, Red hartebeest, Waterbuck and Zebra. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot a shy leopard on the farm or find its spoor along the beautiful hiking trails through a variety of fauna and flora, breathtaking rock-formations and a variety of habitats that seem worlds apart.
The farm offers a surprising variety – both in recreation and accommodation. Recreation includes game and nature walks, game drives, fishing in the river, canoeing, absailing, birding, a golf driving range, swimming pools and even a fufee slide for the kids. Accommodation is in tastefully furnished luxury ensuite chalets, lodges and camps. This is the ideal beakaway or venue for families, family and friend gatherings, weddings, conferences and team building. |
